How can I get to Lower Barn Farm?
Visiting by road:
We are conveniently situated on the A129 going on the outskirts of Rayleigh. Our site benefits from being close to main roadways, A127 and the A130.
We are the first property on the left hand side as you are travel towards Rayleigh from the carpenters arm’s roundabout.
Visiting by public transport:
If you are travelling by public transport we have a bus stop right outside which the 25 and 25a bus service. If travelling by train - Rayleigh train station is 1.3 miles away, with a busy taxi rank or bus stop just outside visiting us is quite easy and definitely worthwhile!
How big is the site?
Lower Barn Farm is a 5 acre site which has a range of indoor and outdoor showrooms displaying a garden and home products. The whole site is family owned and run by the company EVA UK Ltd.
How big is the car park?
The Car park holds around 80 cars. It is blocked paved and is well lit of an evening time.
What is the history of Lower Barn Farm?
The site was listed in the doomsday book and our ‘Main Barn’ showroom is steeped in history as it was one of Rayleigh’s hanging centres. The details of poor Thomas Pate - the last person to be hung for sheep rustling in this area are still inscribed on the original oak beam dating back to 1784. Many of the staff have a Ghostly story to tell – please feel free to ask them for further details!
We are now creating our own bit of history as we continue to grow and offer a great shopping experience to the local community and further afield.
What do you stock?
We hold a very large stock of product for your home: natural stone tiles, building materials, fireplaces, wood burning stoves, range cookers and chimney products.
For the garden: natural sandstone, granite, slate, bricks, aggregates, tools, garden furniture, fence panels, sleepers, plants, solar lights.
Our stock and ranges continues to grow.
What do you deliver?
We deliver all of our products. We have 8 modern vehicles in our fleet ranging in size so deliver the smallest parcel up to 13 tonnes at a time using a crane off load. We are able to arrange artic loads and nationwide delivery also.
Do you offer trade accounts?

Does the Café have a vegetarian/vegan menu?
The Café has a wide ranging menu with many vegetarian/vegan options which are full of flavour. We do our upmost to cater for our customers dietary requirements and do have a number of options that are gluten free also.
How many stoves/fires are on display?
We are one of the UK’s leading stove and fireplace retailer. Our displays are therefore one of the most comprehensive; spread over two buildings there are many live displays representing all of the top brands in the market.
Where does your natural stone come from?
Natural stone can be found throughout the world and we are passionate about sourcing and offering good quality material. We are able to source the right material for various applications ranging from outside paving, walling, architectural pieces, internal flooring and cladding.
We source our material from the finest quarries in India, Brazil, China, Turkey, Italy and Portugal.
We have a standard range but if you want us to find the right stone for you then we can order in to our clients' specification.
